Phase 1: Immediate Response

Missouri

On the evening of May 16th, Missouri and Kentucky were devastated by severe weather, causing tornados, extreme winds, and thunderstorms. Twenty-eight residents have lost their lives to the storms, with more in critical condition. It is estimated that over 5,000 buildings were impacted, neighbourhoods flattened, and first responders still searching homes and buildings for survivors. GEM team members have dispatched to Kentucky, to both Louisville and London, offering support to first responders and to distribute immediate supplies, including Family Necessity Kits, heavy duty cleaning products, pet supplies, and more.

Missouri

On March 15, multiple heavy tornadoes struck down in Missouri. These extreme storms took the lives of many and caused severe destructions across many communities. The GEM team responded immediately to Bakersfield and surrounding communities, and are on the ground now. We are working alongside local officials to reach those most affected and will continue supporting all those affected throughout this heavy storm period. From GEM’s Florida headquarters, critical aid supplies were dispatched to the region, and aid and cash card distributions are presently taking place.
