Phase 1: Immediate Response

GEM Europe, in partnership with the Royal Caribbean Group, has mobilized and is responding to the 7.7 magnitude quake off Indonesia’s coast. Dozens of people have lost their lives, hundreds of buildings have been damaged, and critical infrastructure has been impacted. The Flores island also faced dozens of significant aftershocks after the initial earthquake, furthering the impacts and causing more destruction.

Venezuela Earthquakes

Venezuela
On the evening of June 24th, back-to-back earthquakes struck Venezuela, with a 7.1 magnitude quake followed roughly a minute later by an even stronger 7.5 magnitude quake, centered just west of the capital. Buildings have collapsed across Caracas, where rescue crews are searching for survivors.

Early June 8th, The Philippines most populous island of Mindanao was struck by a 7.8 magnitude quake. Immediately, infrastructure was severely damaged and tsunami warnings were put in place for the region.
