Phase 1: Immediate Response
Our GEM team remain on the ground in Nepal, continuing critical relief operations following the devastating flash floods and mudslides that have impacted communities across the region. With additional flooding and landslides causing further destruction, thousands of families continue to face significant challenges as they begin the long road to recovery.
As part of our ongoing response, GEM has conducted distributions in multiple regions where homes have been destroyed, agricultural land buried, and families have lost livestock, personal belongings, and their livelihoods. Working closely with our local partners, including Nepal Peace Scouts, our teams have been delivering essential humanitarian supplies directly to these affected communities.
To further strengthen our response, GEM has successfully received a cargo plane carrying critical humanitarian aid into Kathmandu, with additional shipments supporting our continued relief efforts. Beyond immediate emergency distributions, our teams are constructing multiple temporary shelters and providing 40 newly orphaned children with comprehensive support, including shelter, food, and education for six months.
As Nepal continues to experience additional flooding and mudslides, GEM remains committed to supporting affected communities through both immediate relief and long-term recovery. Our teams will continue working on the ground alongside local partners, adapting our response to evolving needs and ensuring families receive the resources and assistance necessary to rebuild their lives.
