📌 Due to constant shelling in the Lozova district, Zlatopil often faces disruptions in the energy system and damage to industrial facilities. Local authorities and energy workers continue working to restore services, but the threat of repeated missile strikes and drone attacks remains high.
A reminder of July 2025: an attack by two “Geran-2” UAVs resulted in the death of a woman; among the injured was her 13-year-old daughter. In total, 10 people were wounded in that strike.

📌 The settlement was under russian occupation for 35 days at the beginning of the full-scale invasion (from late February to early April 2022). Despite the risks, local residents passed the coordinates of enemy equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Phase 1: Immeditate Disaster Relief
Since the beginning of the crisis, Global Empowerment Mission has established solutions, partnerships, and strategies to recognize and assist all those affected. Not only in Ukraine, but assistance has spread to those displaced across Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Moldova, Georgia, and beyond. GEM has continued adapting our responses to meet the evolving needs on the ground, providing continued large-scale humanitarian aid support.

In March 2022, GEM activated partnerships with professional military NGO’s, such as Aerial Recovery Group, to be able to deliver aid inside Ukraine. During this period, getting aid inside Ukraine required highly advanced tactics and methods. Since then, GEM has implemented our own major infrastructure in-country. GEM has it’s own warehousing, trucking, logistics methods, production, and so on. To date, GEM has delivered thousands of trucks of aid throughout the region, with an emphasis on front line communities in the most at-risk oblasts. Hundreds of trucks are delivered monthly to these residents. Our aid distributions have adapted and scaled since March 2022; needs are routinely assessed to ensure that our Family Necessity Kits contain the most needed supplies.

智能班级

With average temperatures of below 0 Celsius, the winter seasons in Ukraine have been a major concern for residents since the onset of the crisis, due to lack of electricity, secure housing, and other safety concerns. GEM has planned annually for the season, supplying these life-saving resources in the fall. This includes warm blankets and bedding, generators, small space heaters, fire starter kits, reliable clothing and accessories, and more. Additionally, our rebuilding efforts have been increasingly necessary during these times. Repairing broken windows and heating units before temperatures fall and weather changes, has been paramount to keeping Ukrainian residents safe and warm during the coldest months.

Our work in Ukraine has gone beyond humanitarian aid deliveries and immediate relief. Through our rebuilding efforts, GEM has successfully repaired and restored hundreds of structures. From medical centres and schools to homes and entire neighbourhoods, we have been committed to helping Ukrainian civilians restore normalcy in their communities. This has helped thousands of people return to safe housing, resume their education and learning, have access to healthcare and resources, and has overall supported revivals of local economies. Every repair project is carefully executed in lower risk areas, supported by thorough risk assessment measures, which ensures safety and long-term impact.

In partnership with The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, major distributions have been able to occur along the active front lines in the most needed regions. Deliveries of Family Necessity Kits and critical supplies happen consistently, no matter the weather, terrain, or distance. Monthly, GEM sends hundreds of trucks to these areas.

Seed Program
GEM works all throughout Ukraine & it’s active front lines delivering a variety of different seeds to local farmers and landowners. This program has allowed for people to have access to fresh produce that they may not have been able to because of the active crisis. It also allows for people to gain income through selling the produce, therefore supporting themselves even further. To date, this program has distributed over 115 million seeds and has significantly made a difference in front line communities.
