ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – More than 500 homes across Jamaica that suffered roof damage during the passage of Hurricane Beryl in July finally have coverings again thanks to the efforts of the locally-based Breds Treasure Beach and NCB foundations, and international charity Global Empowerment Mission (GEM).

Michael Capponi and volunteers from Global Empowerment Mission are providing truck loads of support through their Florida Strong Initiative. Capponi is the founder and president of GEM. “If you were to drive a car along the coastal highways for probably 300 miles through Florida, almost every single house got water this high in there. That means everything inside is ruined. And not everybody has insurance. And this is why we have to do things like this.”, he said.

This effort helps ensure that nonprofit disaster relief partners, like the American Red Cross, Global Empowerment Mission, Golden Harvest Food Bank, Good360, Operation BBQ Relief, Save the Children and others, help Amazon deliver more than 40 truckloads of over 1.65 million essential items. These items support 21 relief organizations, with majority of items delivered within 72 hours of a request from Amazon’s Disaster Relief Hub in Atlanta.

In the spirit of giving back and solidarity, Miami Broward Carnival and Montano call on the broader community in supporting the Caribbean Strong Relief Efforts in partnership with the Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), which has already mobilized to provide aid to those impacted by Hurricane Milton. DORAL, FLA. (WSVN) - It’s all hands on deck at the Global Empowerment Mission warehouse in Doral as team members and volunteers assemble family necessities kits filled with food and hygiene items. GEM has remained dedicated to their cause by sending truckloads of supplies to Florida’s Big Bend and the Panhandle to support the victims of Hurricane Helene.

In the wake of Hurricanes Helen and Milton, Global Empowerment Mission, a humanitarian-focused nonprofit, is distributing essential aid, including food, water, hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, tarps, and pet supplies, in North Carolina and Florida.

In Miami, various organizations are collecting goods to send north. Club Space is partnering with Global Empowerment Mission to collect essential goods for impacted families.

Global Empowerment Mission trucks are positioned in North Florida this morning, ready to ride out the storm and respond when it's safe to do so. Chief Operating Officer Emily Fullmer says they're also packing relief supply pallets in South Florida today. Crews are bringing generators, hygiene kits, food, water, batteries and tarps to communities in need. They still have crews on the ground in North Carolina helping Hurricane Helene victims.

Following Hurricane Helene, Global Empowerment Mission, a nonprofit focused on solving humanitarian challenges, is distributing aid, including food, water, hygiene supplies, cleaning materials, tarps, and pet supplies in Asheville, North Carolina and Perry, Florida.

Partnering up with Global Empowerment Mission, Farm Share has mobilized essential food, water, and supplies to the following 29 counties: Gadsden, Liberty, Suwannee, Columbia, Citrus, Hernando, Marion, Pasco, Dixie, Franklin, Walkulla, Taylor, Leon, Hamilton, Hillsborough, Levy, Madison, Sarasota, Lee, Pinellas, Putnam, Alachua, Jefferson, Gilchrist, Volusia, Lake, Calhoun, Charlotte, and St. Johns.

It's the saddest thing I've lived through, and thank God for GEM and all the people showing up and making a difference," said Turchin, who is also volunteering to help with the relief effort.
