Over the past week, devastating wildfires have torn through southern Georgia, scorching more than 50,000+ acres and destroying at least 120 homes and other structures, leaving families displaced and entire communities shaken. These wildfires have been some of the most destructive in Georgia’s history. In the immediate aftermath, Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) mobilized quickly, coordinating relief efforts, sourcing critical supplies, and deploying trucks filled with essential aid directly into the hardest‑hit areas.Working alongside local churches, GEM established distribution points where families could receive food, water, hygiene kits, and basic necessities, meeting urgent needs while helping restore a sense of stability during a time of crisis. Thanks to our smart partnership with @flewthecoop_ we were able to distribute pet necessities kits for all of our four legged friends as well. These churches became more than distribution centers, they became hubs of hope, ensuring that aid reached the people who needed it most, quickly and efficiently. In just one week, through strong partnerships and rapid response, thousands of lives have been impacted, but the need is ongoing, and recovery is just beginning. To help GEM continue to respond to these disasters and to support this vital work, visit the bio in our link, or www.GEM.org
