Over the past week, devastating wildfires have torn through southern Georgia, scorching more than 50,000+ acres and destroying at least 120 homes and other structures, leaving families displaced and entire communities shaken. These wildfires have been some of the most destructive in Georgia’s history.
In the immediate aftermath, Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) mobilized quickly, coordinating relief efforts, sourcing critical supplies, and deploying trucks filled with essential aid directly into the hardest‑hit areas.
Working alongside local churches, GEM established distribution points where families could receive food, water, hygiene kits, and basic necessities, meeting urgent needs while helping restore a sense of stability during a time of crisis. Thanks to our smart partnership with @flewthecoop_ we were able to distribute pet necessities kits for all of our four legged friends as well.
These churches became more than distribution centers, they became hubs of hope, ensuring that aid reached the people who needed it most, quickly and efficiently.
In just one week, through strong partnerships and rapid response, thousands of lives have been impacted, but the need is ongoing, and recovery is just beginning.

Six months ago, Hurricane Melissa became the strongest Category 5 storm ever to strike the Caribbean, devastating Jamaica and damaging more than 150,000 structures, including nearly 120,000 homes and buildings that lost their roofs.
In response, Global Empowerment Mission, alongside International Organization for Migration, American Friends of Jamaica, Ghetto Youths Foundation, Bob Marley Foundation, and NCB Foundation, launched a roof rebuilding initiative that has now restored 251+ roofs—bringing safety, dignity, and hope back to families while creating jobs for local workers.
Over the past six months, GEM has also delivered 3,141 pallets of aid valued at more than $16.3 million, transported through 25 airlifts, 74 shipping containers, and 7 cruise ships to reach Jamaica’s hardest-hit communities.

Pali Hub Opens in Pacific Palisades Long-Term Wildfire Recovery Starts Here:
More than a year after the January 2025 Palisades Fire, a new chapter begins. In partnership, the Palisades Long Term Recovery Group (Pali LTRG) and Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) USA West have opened the Pali Hub - a centralized Disaster Recovery & Resilience Center bringing long-term support directly to the community.
By combining the national scale of GEM with the local leadership of Pali LTRG, the Pali Hub represents a new model for disaster recovery - one built on partnership, efficiency, and community resilience.
Designed as a single point of entry, the Pali Hub connects wildfire-impacted individuals and families with critical resources that they need to rebuild their lives with dignity, clarity, and sustained care. Including disaster case management, FEMA assistance, insurance guidance, housing support, legal services, rebuilding coordination, and mental health care.
With more than 75 partner organizations, the Hub creates a coordinated system that removes barriers, reduces confusion, and ensures each survivor receives personalized support, from immediate crisis through full recovery. The opening brought together service providers across construction, recovery, and wellness, forming a vital, accessible lifeline.
As recovery grows more complex, coordination becomes everything. The Pali Hub ensures no one has to navigate this journey alone - offering clarity, connection, and a path forward.
While national attention may fade, the commitment does not. GEM has been on the ground since day one, delivering over $26 million in aid. The Pali Hub stands as a continued promise: we are here for the long haul.

These figures reflect continued expansion of a logistics-driven model designed to reach over 1,100 communities monthly, supporting nearly 800,000 individuals through integrated programming across food security, WASH, shelter, and livelihoods.
Since the onset of the war, GEM’s cumulative delivery in Ukraine includes:
• 11,671 trucks delivered

This past week, the Miami-Dade County Department of Emergency Management led Operation Lasso III, a full-scale exercise designed to strengthen the region’s ability to rapidly establish Family Reception Centers (FRCs) and Family Assistance Centers (FACs) in the aftermath of a Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack (CCTA).
The operation placed a strong emphasis on speed, coordination, and seamless regional collaboration across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe counties, ensuring a unified response when it matters most.
GEM was honored to attend this multi-agency drill, which simulated a large-scale emergency response as part of ongoing preparedness efforts ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. @miamidadeem
