Phase 1: Immediate Response

Several areas of Texas have been inundated with heavy rainfall, prompting flash flooding, emergency evacuations, and damaged infrastructure. After last year’s devastating flooding, the region is already vulnerable and still in recovery and rebuilding phases. The new storms are washing out roads, isolating communities, and is restricting access to resources for many. GEM Southwest, located in Kerr County, has deployed to the area and is presently distributing supplies and support affected communities.

Earthquakes

Venezuela Earthquakes

On the evening of June 24th, back-to-back earthquakes struck Venezuela, with a 7.1 magnitude quake followed roughly a minute later by an even stronger 7.5 magnitude quake, centered just west of the capital. Buildings have collapsed across Caracas, where rescue crews are searching for survivors.

Philippines Earthquake 2026

Early June 8th, The Philippines most populous island of Mindanao was struck by a 7.8 magnitude quake. Immediately, infrastructure was severely damaged and tsunami warnings were put in place for the region.

Lebanon Crisis

The GEM MENA team, alongside our partners HCI & ONSUR, is presently on the ground in Tyre (Soor), Lebanon supporting displaced families and individuals. The ongoing conflict and crisis in Lebanon has left roughly 80% of the population in poverty.

Oklahoma Tornado

GEM is presently on the ground in Enid, Oklahoma where a massive tornado destroyed over 40 homes and tore through neighbourhoods. Considered the strongest tornado of the year, so far, the storm has caused disruptions to power and water systems and to the Vance Air Force Base.

Georgia Wildfires

Multiple wildfires are currently burning throughout the state of Georgia, with containment efforts stalled due to dry conditions and high winds. The fires have destroyed dozens of homes, forced evacuations in many communities, and put +1,000 more structures at risk.
