GEM & Farmshare Hurricane Preparedness Event

On June 7th, GEM collaborated with Farm Share across 9 different locations throughout Florida, distributing truck loads of food, water, and over 6,000 GEM Family Necessity Hurricane Preparedness Kits. This community support was targeted for those facing food insecurity & in low income neighbourhoods, all with the goal of getting families ready for the upcoming hurricane season.

Venezuela Earthquakes

Venezuela
On the evening of June 24th, back-to-back earthquakes struck Venezuela, with a 7.1 magnitude quake followed roughly a minute later by an even stronger 7.5 magnitude quake, centered just west of the capital. Buildings have collapsed across Caracas, where rescue crews are searching for survivors.

Early June 8th, The Philippines most populous island of Mindanao was struck by a 7.8 magnitude quake. Immediately, infrastructure was severely damaged and tsunami warnings were put in place for the region.
