Phase 1: Immediate Response

Storm Boris caused significant flooding and devastation across Europe throughout September 2024. In regions such as Czechia & Poland, this was the worst disaster in decades. The storm took many lives and has forced thousands of people from their houses. The GEM Europe team, headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, were able to deploy to affected regions right away, bringing critical supplies to evacuated families, first responders, and shelters.

Colombia
On August 10th, a 7.4 magnitude quake struck the Western region of Colombia, causing immediate damage and destruction across many areas. The GEM team has already deployed to the area.

Spokane County, Washington is presently being affected by its largest natural disaster in history with the Old Trails, Fairview, and Autumn Lane Fires destroying thousands of acres of land.

Venezuela Earthquakes

On the evening of June 24th, back-to-back earthquakes struck Venezuela, with a 7.1 magnitude quake followed roughly a minute later by an even stronger 7.5 magnitude quake, centered just west of the capital. Buildings have collapsed across Caracas, where rescue crews are searching for survivors.

Philippines Earthquake 2026

Early June 8th, The Philippines most populous island of Mindanao was struck by a 7.8 magnitude quake. Immediately, infrastructure was severely damaged and tsunami warnings were put in place for the region.

Lebanon Crisis

The GEM MENA team, alongside our partners HCI & ONSUR, is presently on the ground in Tyre (Soor), Lebanon supporting displaced families and individuals. The ongoing conflict and crisis in Lebanon has left roughly 80% of the population in poverty.

Oklahoma Tornado

GEM is presently on the ground in Enid, Oklahoma where a massive tornado destroyed over 40 homes and tore through neighbourhoods. Considered the strongest tornado of the year, so far, the storm has caused disruptions to power and water systems and to the Vance Air Force Base.
