災害支援
GEMは、自然災害に見舞われた地域に即座に支援を提供することに専念しています。災害が発生した場合、私たちは事前に準備したリソースを動員し、48時間以内に被災地を支援するためにグラウンドゼロに向かいます。私たちの災害復興の柱には、即時対応と長期支援の2つのフェーズがあります。第一段階として、GEMは大規模な人道的支援と物資を、資源のない人たちのもとへ届けるために活動します。この援助は、災害の種類によって異なりますが、一般的には、食料、水、衛生用品、一時的な避難所などの形で行われます。また、長期的な支援という次の段階に進むにつれ、GEMは現地で再建物資、家庭用品、掃除や建設資材などを支援することになります。これらの取り組みは、地域のパートナー、政府、住民と協力し、地域の安定と活性化を図るために行われます。

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida as a Category 4 storm. Over 4 million people were immediately affected with power loss, extreme flooding, and heavy winds. Countless more households have been affected along all of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

On September 11th, Hurricane Francine made landfall in southern Louisiana as a category 2 hurricane. New Orleans was hit with a month’s worth of rain in just one day, causing significant flooding. The hurricane intensified rapidly before making landfall.
