In the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton`s devastating impact on Florida and North Carolina, Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) and BStrong Initiatives launched a comprehensive relief effort. Over 60 semi-trucks of aid, including food, water, and pet kits, were delivered to communities facing power outages and displacement.
Our teams swiftly deployed to affected areas, including Taylor, Sarasota, Hillsborough, and Levy counties in Florida, distributing essential supplies in partnership with Farm Share.
Recognizing the unique challenges posed by North Carolina`s flooding, GEM BStrong immediately dispatched resources and established a base camp in Asheville in partnership with the Horse Shoe Farm. Helicopters were utilized to reach isolated communities cut off by landslides and bridge damage, delivering critical aid and evacuating those in need.
Beyond immediate needs, GEM BStrong is committed to long-term recovery. A tool replacement program, supported by Lowe`s and Good360, will equip tradesmen with the resources to rebuild their livelihoods and assist others. Additionally, a $500,000 small business fund has launched in partnership with the Horse Shoe Farm will directly support local artisans, fostering the region`s cultural and economic recovery.
This is just the beginning of GEM`s long-term commitment. Your support, through donations or following our efforts, is vital in helping communities rebuild stronger.
