Soccorso in caso di disastri
GEM si impegna a fornire assistenza immediata alle regioni colpite da disastri naturali. Quando una catastrofe colpisce, mobilitiamo le nostre risorse preposizionate e siamo sul posto entro 48 ore per aiutare le persone colpite. Il nostro pilastro Disaster Recovery prevede due fasi: risposta immediata e assistenza a lungo termine. Nella prima fase, GEM lavora per trasferire aiuti umanitari e forniture su larga scala a coloro che sono privi di risorse. Questi aiuti variano in base ai diversi disastri, ma in genere si presentano sotto forma di cibo, acqua, forniture igieniche e ripari temporanei. Man mano che la risposta procede verso la fase successiva di assistenza a lungo termine, GEM sarà presente sul campo per fornire assistenza con forniture per la ricostruzione, beni per la casa, materiali per la pulizia e la costruzione e altro ancora. Tutti questi sforzi vengono compiuti in collaborazione con i partner locali, i governi e i residenti, al fine di stabilizzare e rinvigorire al meglio la comunità.

The Canadian province of Alberta has experienced 122 wildfires in 2024 already. As of late, the historic town of Jasper suffered tremendous damage from an out of control wildfire, burning over 79,000 acres. Thousands of residents were forced to evacuate.
