In San Juan Alotenango, Guatemala the Fuego Volcano was slowly erupting, spewing ash and lahar across neighbourhoods. Hundreds of residents have been evacuated from surrounding regions, as well as multiple school and road closures, with tens of thousands more evacuations expected.

2018年6月3日、フエゴ火山噴火は、火山爆発と火砕流が連続的に発生した。この噴火では、避難時間のないラハールや火山灰雲が発生し、200人の死者を出した。
