Oklahoma Tornado

Phase 1: Sofortige Reaktion

GEM is presently on the ground in Enid, Oklahoma where a massive tornado destroyed over 40 homes and tore through neighbourhoods. Considered the strongest tornado of the year, so far, the storm has caused disruptions to power and water systems and to the Vance Air Force Base.

GEM has begun ground assessments in the Gray Ridge Ranch community to best assist those who have lost their homes from this storm.

Unser erfahrenes GEM-Team in der Karibik mit Sitz in Kingston, Jamaika, leitet groß angelegte humanitäre Maßnahmen auf der ganzen Insel als Reaktion auf den Hurrikan Melissa. Zurzeit laufen umfangreiche Hilfslieferungen, bei denen Millionen Pfund wichtiger Hilfsgüter verteilt werden.

Alaska Taifun

Am 12. Oktober wurde das Yukon-Kuskokwim-Delta im abgelegenen Alaska von den Überresten des Taifuns Halong heimgesucht, der schwere Überschwemmungen verursachte. Diese Katastrophe ist eine der verheerendsten in der Region seit dem Alaska-Erdbeben von 1964.

Erdbeben auf den Philippinen

Philippinen
Am 30. September wurden die Philippinen von einem Erdbeben der Stärke 6,9 heimgesucht. Es war das stärkste Beben, das jemals in Nord-Cebu gemessen wurde, und wurde von Tausenden kleinerer Nachbeben gefolgt. Fünfundsiebzig Menschen verloren ihr Leben, und Hunderte von Häusern wurden zerstört.

Afghanistan Erdbeben 2025

Afghanistan
Am 1. September ereignete sich in den ostafghanischen Provinzen Kunar und Nangarhar ein flaches Erdbeben der Stärke 6,0. Das Beben war bis nach Tadschikistan, Usbekistan, Pakistan und Indien zu spüren. Laut USGS haben über 1,2 Millionen Menschen das Beben und seine 5 Nachbeben gespürt.
