2024 年 5 月，GEM LATAM 团队在巴西南里奥格兰德州实地应对特大洪灾。100 多万户家庭无法供水，数万人被疏散并安置在避难所，还有无数人受到影响。我们在新汉贡戈（Novo Hamburgo）、隆巴格兰德（Lomba Grande）、埃斯特雷拉（Estrela）、坎波邦（Campo Bom）、拉耶多（Lajeado）、圣莱奥波尔多（São Leopoldo）和阿雷格里港（Porto Alegre）举行了大规模的援助分发活动，分发食品、水、毛毯和卫生用品。此外，我们的团队还帮助流离失所的居民寻找避难所。

在当地工作的头两周，我们为 5000 多个家庭提供了 100 多吨重要物资。

Lebanon Crisis

The GEM MENA team, alongside our partners HCI & ONSUR, is presently on the ground in Tyre (Soor), Lebanon supporting displaced families and individuals. The ongoing conflict and crisis in Lebanon has left roughly 80% of the population in poverty.

Oklahoma Tornado

GEM is presently on the ground in Enid, Oklahoma where a massive tornado destroyed over 40 homes and tore through neighbourhoods. Considered the strongest tornado of the year, so far, the storm has caused disruptions to power and water systems and to the Vance Air Force Base.

Multiple wildfires are currently burning throughout the state of Georgia, with containment efforts stalled due to dry conditions and high winds. The fires have destroyed dozens of homes, forced evacuations in many communities, and put +1,000 more structures at risk.
