Huracán Hilary

Fase 1: Respuesta inmediata

El huracán Hilary tocó tierra en Baja California, México, el 20 de agosto, trayendo lluvias extremadamente intensas. Las inundaciones provocadas por estas lluvias destruyeron carreteras y dañaron infraestructuras. Desde aquí, el huracán Hilary se extendió hacia arriba y sus efectos se dejaron sentir en San Diego, Los Ángeles, Riverside, Palm Springs y más allá. Las precipitaciones trajeron muchos centímetros de agua a zonas donde no es habitual que llueva tanto. GEM tenía varios equipos sobre el terreno en diversas zonas antes de la tormenta, listos para responder en cualquier capacidad que se necesitaba. Tenemos equipos sobre el terreno en Palm Spring, Los Ángeles y México. En Baja California, el equipo de GEM se dirigió a San Felipe y San Rosalía, colaborando con los equipos de primera intervención para encontrar a los más afectados y prestar ayuda de inmediato.

Oklahoma Tornado

GEM is presently on the ground in Enid, Oklahoma where a massive tornado destroyed over 40 homes and tore through neighbourhoods. Considered the strongest tornado of the year, so far, the storm has caused disruptions to power and water systems and to the Vance Air Force Base.
