화산 푸에고

1단계: 즉각적인 대응

과테말라 산후안 알로테낭고에서는 푸에고 화산이 서서히 분화하면서 화산재와 용암을 인근 지역으로 뿜어내고 있습니다. 수백 명의 주민이 주변 지역에서 대피했고, 학교와 도로가 여러 차례 폐쇄되었으며, 수만 명의 주민이 추가로 대피할 것으로 예상됩니다.

과테말라에 본부를 둔 GEM LATAM 팀은 피해 지역 사회에서 대피한 주민들을 지원하고 있습니다. GEM은 대피소와 위험에 처한 지역에 식량, 위생용품, 식수를 공급하고 있습니다. GEM LATAM은 현재 치말테낭고에서 에스쿠인타와 사카테페케스의 시골 지역으로 이동하고 있습니다. 이 지역 주민들 중 상당수는 이번 재해로 인해 농작물을 잃고 가족을 부양할 수 있는 능력을 상실했습니다. GEM은 2018년에도 같은 화산이 폭발하여 이 지역에 영향을 미쳤을 때 이 지역 사회를 지원했으며, 앞으로도 도움이 필요한 한 최선을 다해 도울 것입니다.

Lebanon Crisis

The GEM MENA team, alongside our partners HCI & ONSUR, is presently on the ground in Tyre (Soor), Lebanon supporting displaced families and individuals. The ongoing conflict and crisis in Lebanon has left roughly 80% of the population in poverty.

Oklahoma Tornado

GEM is presently on the ground in Enid, Oklahoma where a massive tornado destroyed over 40 homes and tore through neighbourhoods. Considered the strongest tornado of the year, so far, the storm has caused disruptions to power and water systems and to the Vance Air Force Base.

Multiple wildfires are currently burning throughout the state of Georgia, with containment efforts stalled due to dry conditions and high winds. The fires have destroyed dozens of homes, forced evacuations in many communities, and put +1,000 more structures at risk.
