GEM은 자연재해로 피해를 입은 지역에 즉각적인 지원을 제공하기 위해 최선을 다하고 있습니다. 재해가 발생하면 미리 준비된 자원을 동원하여 48시간 이내에 현장에 도착하여 피해를 입은 사람들을 돕습니다. 재해 복구에는 즉각적인 대응과 장기적인 지원이라는 두 가지 단계가 있습니다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 자원이 없는 사람들에게 대규모 인도주의적 지원과 물품을 전달하기 위해 노력합니다. 이러한 지원은 재난 상황에 따라 다르지만 일반적으로 식량, 식수, 위생용품, 임시 대피소 등의 형태로 제공됩니다. 대응이 장기적인 지원의 다음 단계로 진행됨에 따라 GEM은 재건 용품, 가정용품, 청소 및 건축 자재 등을 현장에서 지원할 것입니다. 이러한 모든 노력은 지역사회의 안정과 활력을 되찾기 위해 현지 파트너, 정부, 주민들과 협력하여 이루어집니다.

On March 15, multiple heavy tornadoes struck down in Missouri. These extreme storms took the lives of many and caused severe destructions across many communities. The GEM team responded immediately to Bakersfield and surrounding communities, and are on the ground now.

On March 7th, Bahía Blanca and Cerri, Argentina were hit with over a year’s worth of rain in just eight hours. The heavy water quickly damaged roads, bridges, cars, housing, infrastructure, and the region. There have been 16 confirmed deaths, and still over 100 people missing.
