Fase 1: Soccorso in caso di catastrofe

L'uragano Lisa si è abbattuto su Belize City e sul Guatemala settentrionale, e GEM si è rapidamente mobilitato per prestare assistenza. Da Miami sono partiti container destinati a Puerto Barrios, che porteranno rifornimenti essenziali a tutte le persone colpite nella regione. Il team di GEM è sul posto dal 4 novembre per distribuire aiuti, assistere le famiglie colpite, incontrare i funzionari governativi locali e pianificare l'assistenza a lungo termine in Belize e Guatemala.

On November 16th, the GEM Europe team arrived in Iceland to support evacuees, and in anticipation for future volcanic activity. Since late October, Iceland has recorded over 20,000 earthquakes, with as many as 800 in a single day.

Nepal
A large 6.4 earthquake devastated Nepal on November 3rd, collapsing homes and destroying the remote region that it most affected. Over 150 people have lost their lives, and hospitals are at capacity with those injured.
