Fas 1: Katastrofhjälp
Vi har skapat lösningar, partnerskap och strategier för att erkänna och hjälpa alla som drabbats, inte bara i Ukraina utan även i Polen, Ungern, Rumänien, Slovakien, Moldavien, Georgien och andra länder.
Utdelning av bistånd i hela regionen
In March 2022, GEM activated its partnership with professional military NGOs such as Arial Recovery Group and many others. During this period, getting aid inside Ukraine required highly advanced tactics and methods. Since then, GEM has now established partnerships with over 150 vetted Ukrainian and European NGOs. To date, we have sent over 1,744 trucks into the region spanning 983 towns and cities. GEM currently delivers over 200 truckloads of aid to the front-line communities every month, supporting hundreds of thousands of people.
Fas 2: Mellanperioden
På grund av de unika omständigheterna i Ukraina är det viktigt att hjälpen fortsätter att strömma till de miljontals fördrivna personer i landet som för närvarande flyttar runt från stad till stad för att undvika bombningar. Detta kallas för en period av brist på resurser.
Smarta klasser
Smart Classes är ett utbildningsinitiativ för att förse barn på flykt med klassrum och resurser för att fortsätta sin skolgång. I samarbete med SmartAid har klasser inrättats i Polen, Rumänien, Moldavien och Ukraina. Varje klassrum är utrustat med all den teknik som behövs för att eleverna ska kunna fortsätta att lära sig, samtidigt som de följer det ukrainska utbildningsministeriets läroplan.
Regeringens partnerskap
Since May 2022, GEM has established long-term memorandums of understanding with many regional governors and mayors throughout Ukraine. Within these agreements, GEM commits to supplying these regional government hubs with aid and winterization supplies. Government partnerships are in place with Bucha, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kviv regions.
Stöd till nyligen befriade städer
Recently many areas of Ukraine have been successfully liberated. Some of these villages, cities, and regions had been occupied for months on end, where access to proper resources were unavailable. Those in these regions have not seen outside assistance this entire time, and were at direct risk during the occupation period. Our GEM Ukraine team works closely with local government, partners, and intel to bring aid into these recently liberated areas within days, such as Kherson, Donetsk, Iziym, Avdiivka, and many more. Again, these individuals have not had any outside aid or assistance and this is the first relief they have had in months.
Övervintring
Med medeltemperaturer på under 0 grader Celsius har den annalkande vintern varit ett bekymmer under de senaste månaderna. GEM har kunnat planera för det kalla vädret och har i förväg levererat livräddande hjälp. Detta inkluderar tusentals varma filtar och sängkläder, generatorer, små rumsuppvärmare, eldstartskit med mera. Dessutom var våra återuppbyggnadsinsatser extra nödvändiga för att snabbt reparera trasiga fönster och värmeenheter innan temperaturen sjönk och regn och snö föll.
Oövervinnelighet
Ukrainas regering och presidentens kontor har skapat tusentals "Invincibility Points" runt om i landet, där lokalbefolkningen kan få varma måltider, tillgång till laddare för enheter, ett varmt utrymme, förnödenheter och stöd från samhället. GEM stöder för närvarande över 200 av dessa punkter och tillhandahåller självuppvärmande varma måltider, filtar, generatorer och andra områdesspecifika förnödenheter. När fler av dessa punkter upprättas kommer vi att kunna hjälpa många fler lokalbefolkningen rutinmässigt i hela Ukraina.

GEM har i samarbete med Life Quality aktiverat sina fas 3-program för återuppbyggnad som svar på en överväldigande önskan hos ukrainarna att återvända hem till en känsla av normalitet och hopp om framtiden.
Livsviktiga reparationer
I dessa reparationer ingår att förse samhällen med förnödenheter tills de är fullt fungerande igen. Under den här fasen har vi åtagit oss att återuppbygga och utföra lättare reparationsarbeten på hundratals hem, hyreshus, skolor, vårdcentraler med mera. Dessa projekt har gjort det möjligt för hundratals människor att återvända till sina hem, tusentals elever att återvända till skolan och den lokala ekonomin att återhämta sig. Allt återuppbyggnadsarbete utförs i områden med låg risk där kritiska riskbedömningsåtgärder har vidtagits.

In partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, major distributions along the active front lines have been taking place in the most needed areas. These communities are the hardest to reach and can be without support for months on end. We have been able to supply dozens of villages with Family Necessity Kits, generators, blankets, and more. We have been able to supply hundreds of these communities with Family Necessity Kits, generators, blankets, mattresses, and more. We are presently sending over 200 trucks per month to these regions.
Windows Program
Alongside the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, GEM has been actively working to repair thousands of windows that were destroyed due to the attacks. The windows are produced in-country, which supported these manufacturing facilities to have work during an uncertain time. By preforming these window repairs, thousands of families have been able to benefit by being able to stay in the comfort of their own home, without having to become displaced due to the freezing temperatures or discomfort.
