Oklahoma Tornado

Fase 1: Directe respons

GEM is presently on the ground in Enid, Oklahoma where a massive tornado destroyed over 40 homes and tore through neighbourhoods. Considered the strongest tornado of the year, so far, the storm has caused disruptions to power and water systems and to the Vance Air Force Base.

GEM has begun ground assessments in the Gray Ridge Ranch community to best assist those who have lost their homes from this storm.

Op 12 oktober werd de Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta in het afgelegen Alaska getroffen door de overblijfselen van de tyfoon Halong, die zware overstromingen veroorzaakte. Deze ramp is een van de meest verwoestende in de regio sinds de aardbeving in 1964 in Alaska.

Op 30 september werden de Filippijnen getroffen door een aardbeving van 6,9 magnitude. Het was de zwaarste beving die ooit in het noorden van Cebu is geregistreerd en werd gevolgd door duizenden kleinere naschokken. Vijfenzeventig mensen verloren het leven en honderden huizen werden verwoest.

Aardbeving Afghanistan 2025

Afghanistan
Op 1 september trof een ondiepe aardbeving van 6,0 magnitude de oostelijke Afghaanse provincies Kunar & Nangarhar. De beving werd gevoeld tot in Tadzjikistan, Oezbekistan, Pakistan en India; USGS meldt dat meer dan 1,2 miljoen mensen de aardbeving en de 5 naschokken hebben gevoeld.
