Eric Smith serves as the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Locust Point Capital, an alternative asset manager with assets totaling $1.4 billion. Eric’s entire career has been focused on investing in the U.S. Seniors Housing sector, where he’s gained recognition for his innovative investment strategies and expertise in managing risk. With nearly thirty years in the field, Eric has facilitated over 500 transactions, amounting to approximately $7 billion across senior debt, mezzanine, and equity investments.
At Locust Point Capital, Eric directs the firm’s investment strategy, leveraging his insights into real estate and capital markets. His extensive understanding of the senior housing and care sector enables him to navigate this complex commercial real estate asset class.
Before establishing Locust Point Capital, Eric held positions at Contemporary Healthcare Capital and Ziegler Healthcare Capital, where he co-founded seven seniors housing investment funds. He began his career on Wall Street at UBS Securities, working on the CMO Derivatives Trading Desk. Over the course of his career, Eric has been actively involved in various boards and has been invited to speak at numerous conferences as a guest speaker.
