GEM Haiti is commemorating the Christmas holidays alongside students in Haiti, providing them with toys and festive celebrations. Haiti has a special place in our hearts. For 13 years, GEM has been actively involved in Haiti every day, offering education, medical, and housing support to those affected by the 2010 earthquake.
This year, GEM inaugurated a new community learning center in Jacmel, Haiti, 13 years post the 2010 earthquake. Remarkably, the center is operated by earthquake survivors. It’s a 100% solar-powered facility, equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, and staffed with professionals for educational programs and after-school tutoring. Community learners are also engaged in weekly beach clean-ups in Jacmel, fostering sustainable community involvement. Through these efforts, GEM Haiti is nurturing the next generation of Haitian leaders, poised to tackle complex challenges and significantly contribute to building a stronger nation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Langhorne Charitable Trust and individuals (@bblanghorne @shykostiner, @danoushkannes, @imivelingiro @virgineunite @zoenourobins for their impactful support towards these students, paving the way for a successful future. #Haiti #Education #humanity #hope #plasticfree #sustainability #Holidays2023 #Jacamel #leadership #community #futureleaders #humanityfirst To learn more about our work in 🇭🇹 Haiti, please visit our website in the link above.
