These communities have been cut off from the outside world for a week. Starlinks are a critical component to establish communication and access to relief. GEM bstrong is air dropping food, water, hygiene, medicine and Starlinks to cut off communities in the Western North Carolina mountains. Thanks to @thehorseshoefarm we popped up a flight operations control room and landing pad in Hendersonville. Pilot Joe and Pilot Scott will be in the skies all week making sure our team can respond to SOS calls in real time. So far, we have responded to Black Mountain, Pensacola, Green Mountain, Swananoa, Asheville, Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, and Cattail Creek.
@aerialrecoverygroup is supporting our team with ground reconnaissance in the areas where information in scarce and situations are unknown.

–We were the first semi truck of humanitarian aid to this location.
– We served 2,000 residents in the first four hours.
– Today we are assessing inaccessible towns by helicopter. #Florida Update: #GEM #Bstrong Advance Teams propositioned in North Florida and then drove into #HurricaneHelene ground-zero before daylight to assess which communities were affected the most.
- We established a basecamp in Perry, Florida immediately
- From that basecamp, we have served 4,000+ community residents to date who have been affected by the storm via drive thru distribution.
- Our teams have distributed aid to residents in Keaton Beach, Dekle Beach, Dark Island, Steinhatchee and Sarasota.
- Local volunteers from South Florida are still packing family emergency boxes at GEM global headquarters in Doral, FL.

It has been an incredibly busy week at our GEM USA West branch. We had the privilege of hosting a visit from Cal OES at our warehouse, where we shared our upcoming plans to assist families affected by the Park Fire. During the tour, we introduced Jeff Popovich, Director of Global Warehousing for GEM, and provided a brief overview of how we utilize our Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage all operations. Additionally, the Cal OES Public Information Officer (PIO) is scheduled to visit us in the coming week.
Now that the Park Fire has been fully contained, our GEM USA West teams have been actively working with affected families to support their recovery and assess their living conditions. After conducting intake assessments with several families, we have provided those in semi-permanent and permanent housing with essential items such as mattresses, bedding, cleaning kits, and more. #GEM #california #ParkFire
